Dr. Alicia B. Forinash is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and her Doctor of Pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She completed a specialty residency in family medicine at Forest Park Family Medicine and St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Forinash has practiced at SSM Health St. Mary's since 2007 in the Maternal-Fetal Care Center and Women and Infant Substance Help (WISH) Center. She is a member of the interprofessional team that manages high risk obstetric patients with a variety of medical conditions including asthma, psychiatric disorders, anticoagulation, epilepsy, hypertension, smoking cessation, and autoimmune disorders; evaluates patients for medication safety concerns during pregnancy and lactation; manages acute pregnancy conditions and preventive health issues; and provides patient and healthcare professional education. Similarly, in the WISH center, she participates in the care team for substance abuse disorders during pregnancy. Dr. Forinash is a board-certified specialist in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and ambulatory care (BCACP) and fellow of ACCP (FCCP). Dr. Forinash has published numerous articles on women's health in both the pharmacy and medical literature. She is co-author of Briggs Drug Use in Pregnancy and Lactation. She has lectured at numerous conferences on medication usage during pregnancy and lactation. She serves on the editorial board for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy and has served as Chair of the Women’s Health Panel since 2015. In 2019-20, Dr. Forinash served on the Communications Workgroup of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Task Force on Research Specific to Pregnant and Lactating Women (PRGLAC). She was the recipient of the 2019 ACCP Clinical Practice Award, 2021 Next Generation Patient Care Provider of the Year Award, 2021 Missouri Pharmacy Association Faculty of the Year award, 2021 STLCOP Preceptor of the Year award, 2019 Missouri Pharmacy Assocation Pharmacists Who Make A Difference Award, 2017 ACCP Women’s Health PRN Vital Contributions in Women’s Health Inaugural recipient award, 2014 STLCOP Residency Preceptor of the Year, 2013 STLCOP Distinguished Alumni for Community Service Award, and 2013 Saint Louis University Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health Residency Excellence and Dedication to Resident Education Award.
