Personal Profile

Personal profile

My interdisiplinary research aims to understand how contexts and consequences influence behavior.

My work is published in peer-reviewed academic journals, e.g. Social Science and Medicine and BMJ Quality and Safety. I have given invited talks for the Experimental Philosophy Group on research methods, the Global Hygiene Council on behavioral interventions, and the UK Department of Health on 'Nudge' mechanisms.

I have developed projects with external organizations including (but not limited to) McDonalds, Orbit Housing Association, Citizen Advice Bureaus, JobsCentres Plus, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, and Choose My Pharmacy.

Where possible, I enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students. Projects I am currently involved in include (but are not limited to):

  • Workplace Wellbeing Interventions: A Cluster Randomized Trial;
  • Surgical evidence and practice: retrospective data analysis/content analysis;
  • AI and Perioperative Health: Big Data Analyses - Led by Dr. Sylvester Orimaye
  • Pharmacy student career progress and research experiences: An explanatory mixed-method study (involving students Steven Jin, Victoria McDougall, Vian Nguyen, Zoe Venable, and Gracie Spicer);
  • Student belonging at UHSP: A cross-sectional mixed-methods study (Gracie Spicer and Raizel Mendoza)
  • The American Psychological Association and Psychonomic Society: Content analysis (involved students: Cathleen Mojica and Kelsey Honeycutt); and
  • Public Perceptions of "Pharmacists": cross-sectional mixed-methods study (involved students Zoe Venable and Shamini Ravichandran).

I happy to talk about new projects. Contact me if you are interested.
